The Tochigi Prefectural Police have designated the area around Orion Street as a new “Focus Area for the Purification of the Adult Entertainment Environment,” expanding the existing designated area to include the vicinity of Tobu Utsunomiya Station.

The Tochigi Prefectural Police announced a revision to the designated “Focus Areas for the Purification of the Adult Entertainment Environment,” aimed at enhancing safety and security in nightlife districts. The area around Orion Street has been newly included, changing the designated area to the vicinity of Tobu Utsunomiya Station.
This marks the first time the focus area has been changed in Utsunomiya City. The police cited reasons for the change, including illegal activities such as solicitation and unregistered operations of late-night eateries, as well as incidents involving customers and pedestrians.
Moving forward, the police plan to intensify inspections of girl bars, concept cafes, and casino bars, among others, to crack down on illegal activities.
